A free, no-sign-up keyword research tool for YouTube creators.

YT Keyword Tool was built to give YouTube creators quick, honest access to the kind of keyword research data that's normally locked behind paid subscriptions. Every feature works without creating an account — we believe basic keyword insight shouldn't require a credit card.

What the tool does

The tool pulls together three kinds of data that matter when planning a YouTube video:

• Keyword suggestions — live autocomplete pulled directly from YouTube's own search suggestions, so you see what people are actually typing.
• Trending and rising keywords — a "For You" dashboard showing what's currently trending on YouTube (from tags on trending videos) and what's rising fastest in Google Search, broken down by country.
• Competition analysis — for any keyword, we pull the top-ranking YouTube videos and compute an estimated competition score from their views, upload recency, and engagement rate.

Where the data comes from

We don't scrape or fabricate numbers. Every figure on this site traces back to a real, identifiable source:

• The YouTube Data API v3 (official, Google-provided) for video search results, statistics, tags, and trending videos.
• Google Trends for rising search terms and our self-tracked growth percentages, which we calculate ourselves from historical snapshots rather than relying on any single live metric.

Because YouTube doesn't publish an official "search volume" metric the way Google Ads does for web search, any tool (including ours) showing keyword "volume" is working from an estimate, not a ground-truth number. We try to be upfront about that distinction rather than presenting estimates as certainties.

Why no sign-up?

We think a basic keyword lookup shouldn't require handing over your email. All research features are free and open; an email sign-up exists only if you'd like to be notified about new features, and it's entirely optional.

Who this is for

This tool is aimed at YouTube creators, especially newer and mid-sized channels, who want a quick directional read on a topic before committing hours to scripting, filming, and editing a video — without paying for a full SEO suite.
